Surfing WA has been the governing body of surfing in this state since 1964. We oversee all boardriding codes including shortboarding, longboarding, bodyboarding and stand-up paddle boarding.

Surfing WA has operated a Surf School at Trigg Beach for over 35 years, providing educational and recreational programs for all WA residents and the many visitors to our state. We manage the licences and accreditation for all WA surf schools and coaches, always with safety and skills development as our leading priorities.

Our organisational team includes 7 full-time staff and a network of over 20 coaches. All of our people are passionate about surfing.

The Surf School is run by operations manager Matt Wilson. His experience as a Level 2 Surf coach and operational knowledge are the driving forces behind our school.
